Karan Sharma dons a turban in Udaariyaan

Actor Karan Sharma is loving his new Udaariyan look. The actor has donned a turban for a special sequence in the show, and is enjoying playing the role of a sikh in the Dreamiyata Entertainment production. “This is the first time I'm wearing this type of turban and a moustache. I haven't done any such role so I am not able to even recognise myself in this look (laughs) and everyone who is seeing me for the first time is telling me that I look sikh. It's a very different kind of feeling and I am enjoying this new look a lot. If ever I get to play this look again in any web series, I would surely do it,” he says.
Ask him how people are reacting to his new look, and he says, “Public reactions were very good and so many people told me that I am looking like a typical Punjabi munda and a Sardarji. My sister told me that I look amazing as well. I have got compliments and more compliments for this look from the people on my set; from Arman, Aasma, mom, dad. They all love it, and so do my friends. What more does an actor want? I feel such looks, so distinct from who we really are, sets us apart.”
Meanwhile, talking about the current track, he adds, “Actually, this getup has been taken so that Murtazam can be taken out of India through the border and reach Pakistan. There is some such planning done by their families. I am sure people will love to watch this twist.”

Savehumanity is my appeal to everyone to build a positive culture of belonging, collaboration and celebration: Ranaksh Rana

A few days back, actor Ranaksh Rana, who is making his Bollywood debut with “The Mentor”, shared an interesting post on his Instagram handle which will make you wonder if we are really losing the little bit of humanity left in us, and becoming more sadistic by the day.
His post read, “The thing on my mind today is #SaveHumanity. Not in terms of the human race, but humanity in the human race. Why has hate become the primary narrative? Why is insecurity leading the strategy? Because of this general mistrust, we are killing our own. We are hurting fellow humans. Can we not instead educate people and find ways to move forward as a unit? Can we not hurt innocents? Just saying.”
Ranaksh has never been one to mince his words, and while explaining it he said, “#savehumanity is my appeal to everyone to build a positive culture of belonging, collaboration and celebration. The general air is of fight, mistrust and even the bystanders are getting affected. I wish for a more educated and empowered society and not the one which teaches through violence or aggression. Our civilization has taught us to make things better with just the power of our mind. I want to bring back that level of confidence in self and individual thoughts.”
Not just that, he would like to launch a platform where people can share their stories which can set an example for others in society. He said, “Save humanity can be a collective story of how people are playing their part in saving humanity, in whatever way they interpret humanity.”However, his intent is not to gain publicity out of it, but to make people understand the need of the hour. “I genuinely feel that it’s my individual responsibility and should be everyone’s to bring out a positive impact in whichever way we can. Any change starts small and from an individual before it becomes a wave,” Ranaksh concluded.

Umarah Naushad Ali recounts her journey towards creativity

Umarah Naushad Ali, who is the granddaughter of late music composer Naushad, says that she always wanted to get into something creative. She says that gradually things opened up for her, and she got into animation and VFX. Additionally, she is also a pastry chef and has her own events company.
“Initially, I wanted to get into engineering, so I was a science student. But very soon I realised that I don't want to be stuck in books ,I don't want to do this. And I changed my field. And I went towards animation and VFX. After that, I did 3d interiors. I was freelancing for, like, ten years. But side by side, I was always into cooking. And all these years, since I was 17, I've been cooking. So all the parties in my house, whether it's 30, 40 people, I used to not let my parents order from out. I would cook the food for everybody and because I have been cooking for so many years and everybody loved the food so much, everybody used to tell me that I should open a restaurant. So at the end, I wanted to get the official tag of a chef. I trained as a pastry chef and I got my certificate from London city and Guilds, and I trained under chef Rakhi Vaswani, who's a very known celebrity chef. And now I'm working for a company as a COO ( Chief Operating Officer) and as a recipe developer, she says.
Talking about what lies ahead, she says, “In the future, I want to go ahead in this field only, obviously, maybe someday, have something of my own, a restaurant and of course, I have UNA events (Umaraah Naushad Ali Events) that I am concentrating on! I want it to somehow connect this catering to that and just excel in both, basically and I'm sure they both will be connected at some point. So, yes, that's the plan for the future.”

Aasif and Shubhangi’s ‘Paan Party’ on Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai set

&TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai is a constant source of entertainment, providing its audience with humorous and enjoyable storylines. Each time the characters find themselves in comical situations, it always brings a smile on viewers’ faces. Soon, the viewers will experience hilarity at its best as Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (Aasif Sheikh) and Angoori Bhabi (Shubhangi Atre) get addicted to eating 'Paan', leading to hilarious chaos in the Modern colony. While shooting the sequence, the actors had to keep their mouths red and to do that they kept eating varieties of paan, resulting in paan party on the set.
Sharing his excitement about the ‘Paan Khaayein Saiyan’ track, Aasif Sheikh comments, “Our goal has always been to bring joy to our audience through funny storylines. In our upcoming track, Vibhuti finds himself hooked on paan, prompting Angoori (Shubhangi Atre) to join in, much to the chagrin of their partners Anita (Vidisha Srivastava) and Tiwari (Rohitashv Gour). It leads to chaos in Modern Colony as they spit it out, making a mess everywhere. Despite the chaos, shooting this sequence was a blast. There were moments when we had to sport red-stained mouths and teeth to play the characters. Throughout the scene, Shubhangi and I indulged in plenty of paan to get into the skin of our characters. While I am not typically a paan enthusiast, there was no avoiding it on set. Surprisingly, all that paan consumption has piqued my interest and I might not mind trying it out in future also. I am soon heading to Varanasi, which is famous for its Banarsi Paan. I am looking forward to trying it out this time around.” Shubhangi Atre adds, “When our director suggested that we keep our mouths red all day for the shoot, I initially felt a bit self-conscious. But as soon as I held that paan in my hand, I was struck by its intricate folding, sealing in a blend of flavours. Back in Indore, I used to enjoy paan with friends, especially the Meetha Paan. So, I insisted that our crew recreate that same experience. Taking a bite, I met with the delightful fusion of sweet gulkand, spices, and the satisfying crunch of fennel seeds. Even the bitterness of supari added its unique touch. It was a simple yet incredible explosion of flavours, evoking memories of old times. Aasif ji (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra) and I had a blast, munching on paan and dancing to the timeless Bollywood track by Asha Bhosle Ji, 'Paan Khaye Saiyan Hamaro'. Our aim has always been to entertain our audience with fresh, engaging content, achieved through brainstorming, crafting amusing storylines, and creating entertaining characters. I am keeping my fingers crossed that our viewers would enjoy this track just as much as we enjoyed shooting it.”
Don’t miss out on the hilarious ‘Paan Khaye Saiyan’ track next week on &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, from Monday to Friday!
